This Privacy Policy describes how Budgetly ("the App"), developed by Motologic Systems ("we", "us", "our"), handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
1. Data We Collect
Data You Provide
When you use Budgetly, you enter financial data including:
- Account names and balances (e.g., "Cash," "BDO," "GCash")
- Transactions (income, expenses, transfers)
- Budget categories and limits
- Savings goals and allocations
- IOU/debt records (person names, amounts, dates)
- Recurring bill schedules
All of this data is stored locally on your device. It is never transmitted to our servers because we do not operate any servers that receive your data.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any personal identifiers
- We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, or location data
- We do not use analytics, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs
- We do not display ads or use ad-tracking technologies
- We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties
2. Google Drive Backup (Optional)
Budgetly offers an optional Google Drive backup feature. If you choose to enable this:
- You authenticate directly with Google using your Google account via Google Sign-In
- Budgetly requests access only to files it creates (the
drive.file scope) — we cannot read your other Google Drive files
- Backup files are stored in a "Budgetly" folder in your Google Drive account
- We do not have access to your Google Drive. The authentication happens directly between your device and Google's servers
- You can disconnect Google Drive at any time from within the app, which revokes Budgetly's access
3. Biometric & PIN Data
If you enable app lock:
- Biometric authentication (fingerprint/face) is handled entirely by your device's operating system. Budgetly never receives, stores, or transmits your biometric data
- If you set a PIN, it is stored securely using platform-level encryption on your device. It never leaves your device
4. Data Storage & Security
- All financial data is stored in a local SQLite database on your device
- Backup files are encrypted JSON exports stored locally or in your personal Google Drive
- We use platform-level secure storage for sensitive preferences (PIN)
- The app works 100% offline — no internet connection is required for core functionality
5. Data Sharing
We do not share your data with anyone. Period.
- No third-party analytics services
- No advertising networks
- No data brokers
- No government agencies (unless required by law with a valid legal order)
6. Data Export & Deletion
- Export: You can export all your data at any time as Excel (.xlsx), CSV, or PDF files from within the app
- Backup: You can create full database backups (JSON) and store them locally or on Google Drive
- Deletion: Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all local data. To remove Google Drive backups, delete the "Budgetly" folder from your Google Drive
7. Children's Privacy
Budgetly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. The app contains no social features, no accounts, and no server-side data collection.
8. Third-Party Services
Budgetly uses the following third-party services:
- Google Play Billing / Apple App Store: For processing the one-time app purchase. Payment is handled entirely by the respective store — we never receive your payment details
- Google Sign-In & Google Drive API: Only if you choose to enable cloud backup. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
